Fascial Exploration & Care for Bodyworkers
Feral Fascia
Retreat & Workshop
October 2nd-4th 2026
Warsaw, Missouri
Welcome, Dear Bodyworker
-
This retreat is for Licensed Massage Therapists and Licensed Estheticians that feel “stuck” in their bodies and routines (both in and out of the treatment room).
What if the most important thing you could do for yourself as a bodyworker doesn’t involve another $1000+ Continuing Education Course?
What if play, low-stakes learning, and deep attunement to self could bring the change you are looking for?
-
Together we will explore new forms of playful movement, remember how to care for our own bodies as it relates to bodywork, and gentle myofascial techniques you can integrate into your sessions back home.
We will host Contact Improv Jams, Foundational Movement classes , and Fascia Workshops. Other group activities like nature walks, fire circles, and body remembering Art will be sprinkled in as well!
Our goal is to learn through experiencing & sensing, rather than strict protocols and technique.
-
Feral Fascia will be held in Warsaw, Missouri tucked away in the rolling hills of the Ozarks. Roughly 1.5 hours north of Springfield, Missouri!
Beautiful views, fresh air, and access to Turkey Creek are available to all attendees. Two AirBnb’s sit on the land and will house attendees, as well as provide enough space for shared meals, fire circles, dancing, and workshops.
We will gather Friday October 2nd and depart Sunday October 4th.

an opportunity to move from habitual patterns of body & mind
into spaces of connection, restoration, and play
here’s what we’ll explore:
Contact Improv
with Kelsey Esther
Contact Improv: Intuitive movement meets collaborative care.
Contact Improv is non-choreographed dance focused on
Shared weight
Momentum,
Deep listening
& Reciprocal touch with others.
This intuitive movement can inspire feelings of deep connection, and play while honoring of your inner “yes”. And don’t worry, there’s no “doing it right”, I promise ;)
We’ll start with personal embodiment, build simple frameworks then expand into safe, supportive, spontaneous and often silly collaboration. CI can introduce a new sense of freedom, inner authority and a new level of interactive listening. All of which can to integrated back at home and in your offices.
Fundamental Movement
Fundamental Movement for Bodyworkers:
Practices for creating longevity & prosperity within your hands-on career

Utilizing movement practices such as:
Joint Mobilization
Grounding Techniques
Fundamental Strength and Activation
Yoga & Restorative Movement
This course is designed to not only inspire bodyworkers different ways to prepare their bodies for a days work but also how to utilize proper body mechanics during sessions and how to recover after sessions.

Myofascial Workshop
Together we will explore the basics of gentle myofascial massage.
Listening: to the fascia in our own bodies and our clients’. Learn to “follow the wave” & “be the wave”
Trust building: communicating “I’ve got you” to your client using just your body and pace.
Lengthening: create a “lengthening” sensation in your clients tissue while simultaneously extending the time of your sessions.
We don’t always get the time to slow down and run experiments with our own bodies while we work! Let this be the place for this. The focus for this workshop will not be on fixing or doing, rather sensing and experiencing.
This workshop is open to beginner and intermediate levels, and is not a certified continuing education course.

WHEN I AM AMONG THE TREES
by Mary Oliver
When I am among the trees,
especially the willows and the honey locust,
equally the beech, the oaks and the pines,
they give off such hints of gladness.
I would almost say that they save me, and daily.
I am so distant from the hope of myself,
in which I have goodness, and discernment,
and never hurry through the world
but walk slowly, and bow often.
Around me the trees stir in their leaves
and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.
And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say,
“and you too have come
into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled
with light, and to shine.”
